How to Get PNS Domain

A step-by-step guide for obtaining your own PNS (Polkadot Name System) domain.

Prerequisites

• Add Moonbeam Network

PNS currently runs on Moonbeam Network. You'll need to add Moonbeam to your wallet, e.g. MetaMask.

• Prepare GLMR Tokens

GLMR is used to pay for domain registration and renewal. You can purchase GLMR from exchanges.

• Install Wallet Browser Extension

Like MetaMask. The registration process goes through the wallet plugin.

Registration Process

• Search for the desired domain on PNS Website ↗

  

  Add Moonbeam Network
• Click on the domain displaying "Available"

Search Domain

• Click "Register" and confirm the transaction in wallet plugin

Confirm Transaction

• After successful transaction, domain displays "Owned"

Using Your Domain

• Set resolution to websites, wallet addresses, IPFS content, etc.

• Bind domain to NFTs

• Create subdomains for categorization

Renewal Process

• Renew before expiration to maintain ownership

• Enter grace period after expiration, can renew then

• Domain goes back to available status after grace period
